Pain Management Physicians Offer Relief from Spine, Back and Neck Discomfort
The Urgent Spine Care Center has four board-certified pain management physicians who collectively offer more than 40 years of specialty experience in interventional pain management. These doctors will diagnosis and treat back, neck and spine injuries with the support of a tremendous team of clinicians, including a nurse practitioner, a clinical psychologist, nurses, physical therapists and medical assistants.

The Urgent Spine Care Center accepts most insurance plans and offers scheduled appointments between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients should be seen by a pain specialist at the Urgent Spine Care Center if the spine, back or neck pain has been present for less than one month, medications no longer lessen the pain or the pain keeps the patient from completing routine daily activities.
Ed Kowlowitz, MD is owner and medical director of the Urgent Spine Care Center. In addition, he is founder of the Center for Pain Management and Center for Special Surgery, as well as Meridian MRI and MRI Solutions, all housed in the same medical complex. He is a leading pain management physician with special interest in neuromodulation to treat chronic neuropathic pain and the use of spinal cord stimulators to treat failed back surgery.

John Fitzgerald, MD is a leader in the field of radiofrequency rhizotomy and has trained internationally with the physicians and scientists who developed the procedure and the equipment used to perform it. As a result of his first-hand training, he has subsequently trained numerous central Indiana physicians on the tools and techniques he uses on a daily basis. [ full bio ]

Jocelyn Bush, MD is the newest member of the Urgent Spine Care Center team, having joined to help with the recent increase in patients with acute back and neck injuries or pain. A Harvard-trained physician and board certified pain management specialist and anesthesiologist, Dr. Bush’s focus is on providing treatment to patients who are seeking immediate relief from the sudden onset of back, neck, muscle or joint pain.
